You can choose to have your oil portraits be rendered in three different styles, Impressionism, Realism or Fauvism. I do not work in modern, pointillism or cubism -by choice.
On the other hand, if you feel strongly drawn to these styles, we might talk and you just might convince me of something different, who knows, nothing is writen in stone, right?
An example of Fauvism is the first portrait (below) of an elderly woman I called "The Glory of Life"
I believe this style best defined her loving presence, always full of life.
The second portrait was done for a book cover in "Magical Realism" style, where the only thing true to its original was the subject's face, even the eyes are enhanced, (in this case they are painted gold.)
In both paintings the face is very recognizable.
Last, but not least, is Realism, (the third painting below) we all know what that is. This is an example of a painting I've done directly from a photograph. Not my favorite mode of painting though, too inflexible, even though the subject is a baby. It fails to give the "OOMPH" that a painting deserves to be a true heirloom.
